US Advanced GDP Forecast 2.2% Previous 1.0%
We are looking for a 0.2% deviation on the expected 0.2%. Therefore
if we get a 2.4% on the advanced 2nd quarter GDP, it would be very
US Dollar positive. We will SELL EUR/USD. However, if we get a
2.0% release, then we would be buying EUR/USD or GBP/USD.

Our focus will be on CAD GDP, which is defined (from wikipedia) as
"the market value of all final goods and services produced within a
country in a given period of time. It is also considered the sum of
value added at every stage of production of all final goods and
services produced within a country in a given period of time." GDP
number has a direct effect on the Interest rate of the currency, it
is one of the news indicators that affects Fed's decision directly.
If the deviation reaches around 0.3%, then if would be a surprise
to the market. We would look for areas to BUY USD/CAD if the
number is worse than expected, and SELL USD/CAD if the number is
better than expected.
If our surprise target of 0.3% is hit, the market will move 35~40
pips within the hour 80% of the time.
US Advanced GDP is coming out at the same time. Please do not take
this trade if you get a conflicted number, such as better US and
better CAD GDP (or vice versa). An alternative currency pair you
can trade would be the EUR/CAD.
